  • Stephen Lakner

    MD

    Dr. Lakner attended undergraduate and medical school at the George Washington University and School of Medicine. He then completed his residency at the George Washington University Hospital. Dr. Lakner currently is a member of the Montgomery County Medical Society and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is the past President of Shady Grove Medical Center Medical Staff and Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He has a special interest in high-risk obstetrics, minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery and adolescent gynecology. Dr. Lakner has been named a “Top Doc” by his peers in Washingtonian Magazine. He is fluent in French, is married and has 2 children.

  • Jonathan Elias

    MD

    Dr. Elias is a native Washingtonian. He completed his undergraduate education at The University of Maryland in 1978. In 1982 he received his medical degree from the University of Maryland and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. His residency training was at Georgetown University Hospital. Dr. Elias is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. He is married, has four daughters and a granddaughter. Dr. Elias is no longer performing deliveries, but has a special interest in recurrent pregnancy loss, infertility, preventive medicine and office gynecology. He also has expertise in the treatment of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS), abnormal Pap smears and Human Papilloma Virus (HPV).

  • Dorothy Lee

    MD

    Dr. Lee completed her undergraduate education at the University of Pennsylvania. In 1987, she received her medical degree from George Washington University. She completed her residency at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore in 1991. Dr. Lee is Board Certified and a Fellow in the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Her special interests include: High Risk Obstetrics, Infertility, Adolescent Medicine, Minimally Invasive Surgery including Laparoscopic Hysterectomy and Hysteroscopy, and treatment of Menopause symptoms. She is married and has two children.

  • David Grossman

    MD

    Dr. David Grossman received his medical degree from Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at New York Infirmary-Beekman Downtown Hospital. Dr. Grossman is Board Certified, a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a member of the Montgomery County Medical Society. He currently serves on the Obstetrics and Gynecology Peer Review Committee at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital. Dr. Grossman’s special interests include high risk obstetrics, laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery and basic infertility and treatment. He is fluent in Spanish and he and his wife, Caren, have two children and three grandchildren.

  • Diane Laurin

    MD

    Dr. Laurin received her undergraduate degree from University of Michigan and obtained her MD from Michigan State University. She completed her residency program in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center and has since been practicing as a Board Certified Ob/Gyn with Capital Women’s Care. During her career, she has served as Ob/Gyn Chairman at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital and as a board member of a community counseling center. Dr. Laurin considers it a privilege to honor her calling by providing compassionate care to women of all ages. She is especially passionate about educating patients regarding their health and choices for treatment, as well as promoting preventive health. Areas frequently managed include contraception, abnormal pap smears, fibroids, abnormal bleeding, fertility concerns, and menopause. She offers treatment with minimally invasive procedures such as laparoscopy and hysteroscopy and still enjoys the great reward of managing expectant mothers during their pregnancies and delivery process. Dr. Laurin is fluent in French, and when not working enjoys spending time with family, traveling overseas, and being active outdoors.

  • Rene Johnson

    C.R.N.P.

    Rene spent the first ten years of her nursing career in the US Navy in labor and delivery and mother-baby care. She completed her Master’s degree at the University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2001 and has been practicing as a nurse practitioner, as well as a certified lactation consultant. She has been with Capital Women’s Care since 2012. She is interested in all facets of women’s health. She lives in Maryland with her husband and two sons.

  • Catherine Scaletta

    C.R.N.P.

    Catherine, who is commonly referred to as Kate, received her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from the Pennsylvania State University and her Master’s of Science in Nursing with an emphasis in Women’s Health from Emory University. She began her nursing career working in the hospital setting gaining esperience on medical/surgical and mother/baby units. She has spent the last 9 years working in the office setting in military family practice and ob/gyn. Catherine has particular interest in adolescent care, contraceptive and preconception counseling, and preventative healthcare for girls and women of all ages as she considers it a true honor to asist women in taking the best care of themselves and their families. Catherine has enjoyed living abroad with her husband and traveling prior to the birth of her two daughters. These days, she enjoys quality time with her husband and traveling prior to the birth of her two daughters. These days, she enjoys quality time with her husband, spending time outdoors and generally keeping two small children happy healthy and entertained.
